How to Use a Prescription in Japan
病院や診療所で処方箋をもらったら、 薬局で薬を受け取ります。
日本では、患者さんが薬局を選ぶことができます。 ここでは、処方箋の使い方と 薬局での受付方法を紹介します。
After visiting a doctor, you may receive a prescription. You can choose which pharmacy to visit. This guide explains how to get your prescribed medicines in Japan.
処方箋とは？ / What is a prescription?
処方箋は、医師や歯科医師が、 必要な薬の名前、量、使い方などを 記載したものです。
薬局では、薬剤師が処方内容を確認し、 必要な薬を準備します。
A prescription contains instructions from your doctor or dentist about the medicines you need. A pharmacist checks the prescription and prepares your medicines.
薬局での4ステップ / 4 Steps
処方箋を受け取る
病院や診療所で、紙の処方箋を 受け取ります。 電子処方箋の場合は、 紙の処方箋は渡されません。
Get a paper prescription, or choose an electronic prescription at a participating medical facility.
薬局を選ぶ
紙の処方箋は、原則として 全国の保険薬局で利用できます。
電子処方箋は、対応している薬局を 選んでください。
You can generally take a paper prescription to any pharmacy that accepts health insurance. For an electronic prescription, choose a participating pharmacy.
薬局で受付する
紙の処方箋は、原本を 薬局の受付に提出してください。
あわせて、マイナ保険証や 資格確認書などで、 健康保険の資格を確認します。
お薬手帳があれば、 一緒に提示してください。
Give the original paper prescription to the pharmacy staff. Complete the health insurance check. Bring your medication notebook if you have one.
薬の説明を受け、受け取る
薬剤師が薬の飲み方、使い方、 注意点などを説明します。
わからないことがあれば、 薬剤師に質問してください。 会計をして、薬を受け取ります。
The pharmacist will explain how to use your medicines and important precautions. Ask questions if anything is unclear. Pay and receive your medicines.
処方箋には使用期間があります / Prescription Validity
発行日を含めて4日以内
土曜日・日曜日・祝日も含みます。
A prescription is generally valid for four calendar days, including the date of issue. Weekends and public holidays count.
例えば、金曜日に発行された場合、 通常は翌週月曜日までです。
ただし、医師や歯科医師が、 特別な事情を考慮して 別の使用期間を記載した場合は、 その期間が適用されます。
使用期間を過ぎた場合は、 その処方箋をそのまま使用できません。 発行した医療機関にご相談ください。
For example, a prescription issued on Friday is generally valid through Monday. If a different validity period is specified by your doctor, follow that period. If it has expired, contact the issuing medical facility.
※ リフィル処方箋の2回目以降など、 一部には異なる取扱いがあります。
紙と電子処方箋の違い / Paper and Electronic Prescriptions
紙の処方箋 / Paper Prescription
医療機関から渡された紙の処方箋の 原本を薬局に提出してください。
写真やコピーだけでは、 原則として調剤できません。
Bring the original paper prescription. A photo or copy alone is generally not sufficient to dispense medicines.
電子処方箋 / Electronic Prescription
電子処方箋は、 電子的に管理される処方箋です。 電子処方箋に対応した薬局で 利用できます。
マイナ保険証で受付する場合は、 カードリーダーで電子処方箋を選びます。
資格確認書で受付する場合は、 電子処方箋の引換番号などを 薬局に伝えてください。
Electronic prescriptions are available at participating pharmacies. Use your My Number Health Insurance Card to select the electronic prescription, or provide your prescription reference number and insurance information when using a Certificate of Eligibility.
※ 電子処方箋が発行されても、 薬局に自動的に送られ、 薬が準備されるわけではありません。 薬局での受付が必要です。

If you lose your paper prescription, contact the medical facility that issued it.
薬局に薬があるかわからない
薬の在庫がない場合、 お渡しまでに時間がかかることがあります。 事前に薬局へ相談することもできます。
Some medicines may not be in stock. You can contact the pharmacy before your visit.
日本語で説明するのが難しい
服用している薬、アレルギー、 困っていることなどを 薬局の職員に伝えてください。
言葉で伝えることが難しい場合は、 翻訳アプリなどを使って 確認できる場合があります。
Tell the pharmacist about your current medicines, allergies and any concerns. Translation tools may help with communication.
